GENESIS 11:9

"It's name was called
    Babel..."

An unfinished tower...
    source unknown
    to wandering nomads.

Legends unfolded
    about God coming down
    to stop the building.

A story explains reason
    for multiple languages
    and multiple peoples.

It imagines a long-past time
    of one language
    and one people.

Maybe so...
    if you buy into
    the Adem-Eve-Snake talk.

They're right on one score...
    that it's pretty hard
    to get where God is.

But why would God get upset
    about people trying
    to raise themselves?

You'd think He'd help out...
    just to have
    someone to talk to.

     GENESIS 12:1

"Now the Lord said
    to Abram...Go..."

Here we're getting history
    more or less...
    so we're told.

Why did Abram's people
    really go to Canaan
    from the east.

Why leave the prosperity
    of the Tigres-Euphrates?

Why do any peoples
    leave their roots
    and migrate?

Religious persecution?
    Over-population?
    Political unrest?
    Famine?
    Military defeat?

Refugees of the world
    are those who hear
    in troubled times...
     "Go!"
