Freud to Einstein
"Why do you and I and so many other
people rebel so vigorously against war?"
1. Because everyone has a right to his
or her life.
2. Because war puts an end to human
lives that are full of
hope.
3. Because it brings individuals into
humiliating situations.
4. Because it compels people against
their will to murder other
people.
5. Because we cannot help doing so.
(Sigmund Freud –
Letter to Albert Einstein, 1932)
"You have heard
it said that you shall love your
neighbor and hate
your enemy. But I say to you,
Love your enemies
and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of you
Father who
is in heaven; for
he makes his sun to rise on the evil
and on the good, and
sends rain on the just and on
the unjust.
For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not
even the tax-collectors do
the same. If
you salute only your brethren, what
more are you doing
that others?"
(Jesus – According
to Matthew 5:43 - 48)

"Whatever
is true,
whatever is
honorable,
whatever is
just,
whatever is
pure,
whatever is
lovely,
whatever is
gracious,
if there is
any excellence,
if there is
anything worthy of praise,
think on these
things.
"What you have learned
and receiver
and heard and
seen in me,
do;
and the God
of peace
will be with
you."
(Philippians 4:8, 9)
