| GENESIS 22:2
"'Offer him
as
a burnt offering."
That always stops me.
Was that really God speaking?
To a sane
father?
About a
real son?
And the father really listens?
And takes
it seriously?
And prepares
a fire?
I've read in papers of such
things
done to
families
by voice-hearing
demented men.
Just in time
an angel
arrives
and the
son is saved.
And Abraham's faith
is praised.
Praised?
I've heard this preached
as a good
example
of faith
and trust in God.
I'd much rather
Abraham
had said to the voice -
"That's
crazy!" |
