"When the river gets low
      the rocks get bigger."

An observation
      from a river drifter.

It's sure true in counseling...
      when spirits run low
      problems seem bigger.

Summer raises spirits
      (as it lowers rivers!)
      nature's way.

Nature offers built-in therapy
      air, sun, and all outdoors...
      for us to claim.

And as our "river" rises
      hard rocks diminish
      even disappear.

So we hang on until summer
      and a time when
      we can raise our river.

It's a lot easier
      than trying to move
      all those rocks!

He watched a juggler
     keeping seven dumb-bells
     twirling in the air.

We kept waiting
     for a fumble
     and dumped dumb-bells.

But he was a pro
     and kept his act
     in the sky.

We're all jugglers...
     trying so hard
     to keep our act up.

Except we're not perfect...
     We miss a catch
     and the whole act falls.

We admire those
who pick up a fallen act
     and begin again.

We applaud even more
     those wise enough
     to limit their act.

So we dream of doing life
     juggling
     fewer dumb-bells.
