A Print
Inspires: A Two-Day Workshop - Garment or Quilt Design
|
Today's fabric is a delight to the eye and the touch,
and who can resist making purchases even with no project
in mind? This workshop is devoted to making use of
some of that wonderful fabric by using the theme, colors,
and textures that it reveals.
During this stimulating workshop, participants
will create highly individual pieced and/or appliqued
projects. With Rita's guidance and the input from other
class members, special design elements will be planned
for each person's project. Several techniques for fabric
manipulation and enhancement will be demonstrated.
Color and fabric selection assistance will be given
and good value placement and composition will be discussed.

A Symphony
of Plaids: A One-Day Skirt and Vest Workshop
|
|
Have you run out of shelf space for all your plaid
cotton fabrics? This garment class will help you use
some of each of them! A very easy but effective spiral
skirt will be planned and begun in the morning session.
After a lunch break, a vest (or jumper top) will be
created using a solid color fabric as a base. Building
on that, ribbons, trims, and satin stitching will be
combined in a plaid configuration to compliment the
skirt. |

We Going? A One- or Two-Day Workshop Quilt or Garment Design

This is an original design with many interesting possibilities.
We will be experimenting with a simple set of shapes
which will be set in rows. There will be several alternatives
shown, and assistance given with color, value, and
composition. Each class member will create a strikingly
unique project which can be finished as a quilt or
as a garment. |
