IDYLL  (i'd'l), n.  “A poem or prose piece, usually short, depicting simple scenes of pastoral, domestic, or country scene.”
Mine “moments” —  45 years.
I think “Idyl-wild” as fitting for Salter’s…
Memories of a wedding long years ago at Whittier Methodist.
Memories of hoping and praying twins into life.
Memories of sailor-making on Puget Sound
Memories of Salter jaunts from Corona Del Mar to Alaska.
Memories of a wedding on the beach at Corona del Mar
Memories of a baptism on New Year’s Eve 1999 A.D.
These are only samples of “Moment Idyll’s”
         We are Idyll-makers…
                  And Ken is an Idyll-master.
So we are here, 1000 miles from home, and a mile high.
         Why? Because we were invited
         And were able
We admit to expectation
         Of good wine
         And good food guaranteed
And songs, poems, and drama for the soul.
There is history here
         Made up of children becoming
         Miles on the trail
Weddings and baptisms and special moments.
The “Idyll” is a story of friendship
         Born in churches
                  In family events
                  On the trail
                  In special events.
We—together—are Idyll-makers.
