GENESIS 2:2

"On the seventh day
    God rested..."

Lots of arguments
    would never have happened
    if the writer had said
    "eons" instead of "days."

Anyway...
    why does the Almighty
    need to rest?

I try to think of the bias
    of the Priestly editors...
    seeing an opportunity.

An existing health R&R day
    was an opportunity
    to steer worshippers in.

I accuse the Priests
    of stealing the rest day
by making it a "holy" day.

Now to faithful souls
    the seventh day
    is not for rest
    but busy holy unrest fulness.

And poor God
trying to work in an off day
    while His faithful
    spend the day bothering Him.

    GENESIS 2:5

"When no plant was yet
on the earth..."

Hold it!

We were just told
    that man came along
    after everything else.

One page later
    we get a new version.

Why two stories?

Which do we believe?

Didn't God approve
    of the first report?

One suspects
    a troubled editor
    compromising a dispute.

Both stories were good...
    and both gave God
    the credit.

So make everyone happy
    and have
    two creation stories.

You can do that I guess
    if you're God
    and it's your book.
